Environmental Policy

Creative Stream Ltd deliver marketing services including website design, online marketing, digital media, graphic design and print. The Directors of Creative Stream Ltd recognise their responsibility to manage the environmental impacts of our activities, products and services.

In order to promote good environmental practices, our Policy with regard to the environment is as follows:

  • To identify the significant environmental impacts of our activities.
  • To develop suitable objectives, targets and programmes, applying appropriate operational procedures to minimise our significant environmental impacts.
  • To comply with relevant legislation, regulation and other requirements relating to our significant environmental impacts.
  • To prevent pollution, minimise our inputs of utilities and resources and the outputs of emissions to the atmosphere, effluents to waters/sewers and wastes to disposal facilities; endeavouring to re-use, recover or recycle materials where practicable.
  • To ensure that environmental responsibilities are defined, communicated and understood at all levels within our organisation and provide appropriate training where needed. To communicate, co-operate and respond to the views of interested parties, including stakeholders, customers and the general public, on environmental issues, where this is practicable and likely to result in an overall improved environmental performance.
  • To strive for continual improvement in overall environmental performance.

Renewable Energy Hosting

All our web hosting services are powered by data centres supplied exclusively with 100% renewable, net zero energy. This ensures that the infrastructure supporting our clients’ websites operates with minimal environmental impact, contributing directly to our overall carbon reduction objectives.

Carbon Reduction Plan

Commitment

Creative Stream is committed to achieving Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050, with significant reductions achieved by 2030.

Scope

This plan encompasses all direct and indirect emissions associated with our business operations, including:

  • Scope 1: Direct emissions from company-owned or controlled sources (e.g., company vehicles, on-site heating).
  • Scope 2: Indirect emissions from the generation of purchased electricity, heat, or cooling.
  • Scope 3: All other indirect emissions that occur in our value chain (e.g., business travel, employee commuting, purchased goods and services, waste disposal).

Baseline Measurement

We will establish a baseline carbon footprint for 2026 by measuring our Scope 1, 2, and relevant Scope 3 emissions. We will use SME Climate Hub’s Small Business Calculator to calculate our footprint https://carboncalculator.smeclimatehub.org/.

Reduction Targets

Reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 25% by Year 2030.

Reduce Scope 3 emissions by 30% by Year 2030.

Reduction Strategies

Energy Efficiency

  • Conduct an energy audit of our shared office space and implement efficiency measures (e.g., LED lighting, smart thermostats, efficient appliances).

Sustainable Transportation

  • Encourage employee cycling, walking, and public transportation through incentives (e.g., cycle-to-work scheme, transit subsidies).
  • Prioritise virtual meetings over business travel whenever possible.
  • When travel is necessary, choose lower-emission options (e.g., train over plane, electric/hybrid vehicles).
  • Offset all unavoidable business travel emissions.

Sustainable Procurement

  • Prioritise suppliers with verified carbon reduction plans or commitments to Net Zero.
  • Choose eco-friendly and recycled office supplies.
  • Reduce paper consumption by promoting digital workflows and double-sided printing.

Waste Reduction

  • Implement a comprehensive recycling and composting program.
  • Reduce single-use plastics and promote reusable alternatives.
  • Partner with waste management companies that prioritise waste reduction and diversion from landfills.

Remote Work

  • Encourage the remote working team where practical as it has minimal environmental impact.

Sustainable IT Practices

  • Extend the lifespan of company devices to reduce electronic waste.
  • Properly dispose of electronic waste through certified recyclers.
  • Continue to adopt cloud-based solutions that prioritize energy efficiency.

Offsetting

For remaining emissions that cannot be reduced, we will invest in high-quality carbon offsetting projects that are verified by reputable standards (e.g., Gold Standard, Verified Carbon Standard). We will prioritise projects that provide additional social and environmental benefits.

Monitoring and Reporting

We will track our progress against our reduction targets annually.

This plan will be reviewed and updated regularly to ensure its effectiveness and alignment with best practices.

Employee Engagement

We will engage employees in our carbon reduction efforts through training, awareness campaigns, and opportunities to participate in sustainability initiatives.

Supplier Engagement

We will communicate our commitment to sustainability to our suppliers and encourage them to adopt environmentally responsible practices.

We will prioritise suppliers who share our values and can demonstrate a commitment to carbon reduction.

Communication

We will communicate our carbon reduction plan to our clients, employees, and the public through our website, social media, and other channels.
