Third-party services for your new website

If you’ve been directed to this page, it’s likely that starting your new project or website with us, and we need you to set up the third-party services. This might include but is not limited to:

Domain access:

We require nameserver control of the domain so that we can

  • Configure the domain for the site itself and all the services above
  • Provide open-source SSL

If you cannot provide this then we will need your contact who does control the domain so that we can provide instructions:

  • If this is managed by the Anglican.org people in the US: then we will contact them with the settings and deal with it directly
  • If this is another entity: please introduce us by email using projects@cs.isarriving.com as this will facilitate the process

Are you using email on that domain?

If the email is specific to your business then we need to know. Examples of this would be projects@cs.isarriving.com or Tarquin.farquharson@equiphub.org. However, if it’s a widespread/generic email (for instance Bob@anglican.com) it’s not a problem.

If you’re not sure, contact us and we’ll help you figure it out.

Stripe

Stripe is the eCommerce gateway and will be how people purchase anything that requires payment on the site. At the time of writing this, it has no monthly or set-up fees.

Pricing info here: https://stripe.com/gb/pricing
Start the application here: https://stripe.com/gb/payments

Action that you must take:

  1. This one requires a fair bit of work in the application (including some legal docs that must be completed or they won’t set it up), and should most likely go to the finance team unless you have other plans
  2. Once you have an account, you must add support@cs.isarriving.com as a developer to the account so that we can do our part. If you’re not sure, we found a page in Stripe called Invite team members or developers to access your Stripe account
  3. Once you (or the finance dept) complete the process, you must tell us when your application is completed so we can monitor the timescale to ensure it is provided by them in a timely manner and get you to chase it if required.

MailChimp/Transactional Email (Mandrill)

We expect you to already have a MailChimp account for sending newsletters. We require access to this to set up and configure the account.

Action that you must take:

Invite us to your account as an admin:

  • Username: creativestreamltd
  • Email address to use: ant@cs.isarriving.com

You can find this by clicking on the profile icon and choosing ‘Accounts & billing’ and then selecting Settings > Users.

Decide what email address will you be utilising for your site’s email communication and confirm those details with us, as we need to correctly authenticate this if required. It’s typically best to choose a generic email address, rather than a personalised one.

For the personalised email newsletter, you need “Transactional Email” (Mandrill) within your MailChimp account, and this will require a small additional monthly payment on top of your normal payment: https://mailchimp.com/pricing/transactional-email/

Google

We will be setting your site up for Google Analytics which links with cookie management software that conforms to UK regulations. For this, we require access to your Google Analytics account so that we can configure this correctly.

Action that you must take:

If your organisation already has an analytics account you have 2 options:

Option A: You want your new website to be added as a new property to the account
We can set it up for you if you allow us account admin permission. To do this:

  • Login to Google Analytics
  • In the bottom left, click on the blue cog ‘Admin’
  • On the left of the page go to ‘Account Settings’ and choose ‘Account access management’
  • In the top right, click on the blue + button, and click ‘Add users’
  • Enter info@cs.isarriving.com and choose ‘Administrator’ from the standard roles below it

We will then be linked to the account and can set up the new property for you. You, as Account Admins, have full permissions for the new property we create.

Option B: You want to transfer your existing GA4 code to the new website.
We’ll talk to you about the code.

If your organisation doesn’t have a Google Analytics account
  • We can create an analytics account for you.
  • So that you can log in to generate reports you’ll need to tell us what email address to add.
We can only add an email address that meets Google’s criteria (any email address, provided it is linked to a Google Account). To find out more, go to our Analytics page, and read the section “What email address can I use?”

Moodle

If we are creating your Moodle site, then you can ignore this.

If you have an existing Moodle account, then we’ll need admin access.

Action that you must take:

If you are a religious entity, then your existing Moodle site is probably run by Ken Farrimond – if so, the easiest thing is to ask Ken to give us administrative access to the site and we will do the rest of the work. Otherwise, we are happy to guide your supplier through the process of linking the sites so please do introduce us.

CMS (Church Management System)

To connect to your diocesan database, we will need some settings to be added to your CMS account. It is best that we guide you through this proceed via screenshare in Zoom or similar.

We understand that this might feel overwhelming and you’ll have questions, so contact us as we’re here to help
